Find Groups

Here you will find a list of online support groups, which exist here on the Big island.

East Hawaii Homeschool Hui, facebook group For families homeschooling on the east side of the Big Island. Feel free to organize outings and activities, and invite the rest of us to join.
For homeschoolers on the Big Island of Hawaii to have a place to meet, share ideas,
ask questions, offer support, make friends, plan field trips or get-togethers. Help us create a network of support for each other and for others who may be considering
homeschool as an option for their family. Feel free to post notices about events,
homeschool friendly businesses, great places to go on the Big Island, great web sites
you have found and whatever else might be pertinent to other homeschooling families.

Hilo Christian Home-school support group (no website) meets every third Monday at the Hilo Missionary Church from 6:30-8:30ish. Upstairs. An evening of prayer, fellowship, and sharing with other homeschooling parents. Contact Jessica Wertz for more info at jessi97520@yahoo.com.

Other groups on the Big Island:

This is is an inclusive support group for homeschoolers in the North Hawaii area (i.e. Waikoloa, Waimea, Hawi) of the Big Island. Help create a network for making friends, sharing ideas & resources, and planning get-togethers. We encourage sharing responsibility for facilitating larger group activities and events such as book clubs, field trips, science fairs, art/photo contests & sports events.

This is the online e-group for Christian Home Educators in Kona and surrounding area on the Big Island of Hawaii. This is a Christian group though you do not have to be a Christian to belong but you have to be respectful of others beliefs. This list was established so we could stay connected with prayer requests, encouragement and sharing announcements and events connected with homeschooling and Christian lifestyle.
The purpose of CHEK is to provide information, inspiration and support to families who exercise their God given right and responsibility to educate their children.
